In a truly BLEU-collar-brative way, THE GENERAL has become real. The nickname first appeared in my mind last July, after a truly odd year. We entered the 2020 season amidst a pandemic… confused, but staying strong as a region, losing a few of God’s soldiers along the way. But we had our Bills. We had Josh Allen. It hit me. General Josh Allen. July 9 2020.

Buff-a-logo, WNYHeroes, & Buffalo Fanatics combined into a WNY team, and ran an immaculate strategic execution on the field to make this happen. I may have drew it up in chalk talk, but they made it happen. If you’ve ever read here, or followed me on twitter you know how big of a deal it is to me to see this come to reality. Truly grateful to Erik Westfield from Buff-a-logo, along with Robby Grabowski for all the great work they do to create, collaborate and inspire small businesses here in the Western New York area. They have done an incredible job of bringing people together in an organic way, and promoting great people of our region. I wanted to see someone who could do it right make it happen, and they did. Erik was quick to see the vision and his wheels were turning immediately.

For the first time ever, a portion of proceeds from the sales of these Buff-a-Logo tees will go towards @wnyheroes.

Though I don’t believe I have yet, I look forward to meeting the people at BF, as they are certainly the big dog here in Buffalo when it comes to sports media & Buffalo Bills news. They will continue to grow, and expand, much like Buff-a-logo. Grateful to hear as soon as they were onboard and was excited when I heard they were ready to roll. Big ups to them for letting Erik credit me. Honestly. Shows class and I won’t ever forget. Thank you BF.

WNY Heroes is an amazing organization here in WNY that helps military families. I suggest you check out their website to learn more about their organization, especially the “Little Heroes” program, which to me is extra special as I am a huge advocate for youth sports and music & arts for all kids.

The mission of WNYHeroes is to provide veterans, members of the armed services, and the widows and children of deceased veterans with access to essential services, financial assistance and resources that support their lives and sustain their dignity.

The original GENERAL logo concept (as some readers know) comes based off a “6 Star General” which has been considered but never actually technically awarded. A “General of the Armies”. This somewhat real, somewhat fairytale concept fit the nickname and mantra of General Allen perfectly. I was proud to see the guys kept in the concept of the 5 guys (stars) up front, representing the lineman, and ESPECIALLY proud of Erik for hitting it right in the sweet spot by choosing WNYHeroes to represent and raise awareness for. On the field and in life, The General is protected by those around him and cannot function without those who protect us.

I’m inspired by the efforts of WNY Heroes, Buffalo Fanatics, and Buff-a-Logo. It only further demonstrates the strength, unity, character, and vitality of our region and Buffalo Bills fanbase.

Thank you to everyone who made it happen, and thank you General Josh Allen, I’ll ride into the apocalypse with you anytime.

GOBILLS.
