The Bills are back on track. The passrush was quick to make Tua dead in the water and continued to pick at Jacoby Brissett like chum until the final whistle. It was clear that Buffalo wasn’t going to go down easy today, and as I start this article before the final whistle, let’s get this big dub behind us with the final #postgamewrapup for Porpoise week.
Wake Up Call
The Bills were sure to wake up this week, leading off with a liver shot on lefty QB Tua. The announcers didn’t even get a chance to fit in a comment about Tuas positive attitude before A.J. Epenesa took him out, leading him TUA ride on the cart. The Bills defense was really on a quest for blood today, and there was a nothing left to show for the Dolphins but a big old GOOSE EGG.
Josh Allen praising the defense- “A goose egg in the NFL, that doesn’t happen very often.”#Bills #BillsMafia

2019 Form
I’ve already seen the jokes made about the defense being in 2019 form, along with Josh Allen. I wasn’t overly impressed with Josh’s performance today, but I wasn’t disapointed either. He managed to hang onto the ball, get rid of it fairly safely, and avoid any ugly hits. He did have one INT where Xavien Howard made a sexy play on a tight window throw to Stefon Diggs. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy.
Jevon Holland was an impact player, out of Oregon, who as we mentioned will be an impact player for a long time.
StarPower.
Though I’ll make my point about Gabe Davis short, he didn’t play enough. Star Lotulelei did play enough, and he played hard as heck. He showed how much of a difference he makes at the noser. Shoutout to Jeff Mayne friend of Bleumafia and longtime Bills analyst who has repetitively voiced his anticipation for what the Bills could look like with a healthy Star. It showed how powerful Star is on the inside, and the Bills thrived with him playing.
Room to Grow
The O line wasn’t great, but a few nice pop plays should grow the confidence in the offensive huddle. We will need to continue to grow on the offensive side of the ball, and protecting Josh Allen for 35-50x a game for 17 games plus playoffs will remain a challenge every week. Next week with the WFT defense coming to town, the Bills will need to tighten up up front. But this win, like the Steelers loss, will be a decent film to breakdown and grow from.
Back On Track.
As yours truly predicted, slippery balls were a factor, and 58 and 50 both made big plays today. Tua did not have a fun day. Missions accomplished. The next step will be a tough minded WFT team with a spunky young QB who won’t be afraid to stare down the BEAST that is the Buffalo front 7. Depth was a big help on defense, and though it was clear that Miami wasn’t planning on using Jacoby for 4 quarters, the mindset was EXACTLY what fans and opponents needed to see.
This Bills Defense is scary.
14 total points through 2 weeks.
179.5 Pass yards/Game For Opponents
73 Rush Yards/Game for Opponents
Yikes.
Stay tuned Humpday for the #HUMPDAYCHECKDOWN where I’ll touch down on Washington and what’s up with the Bills. Relish in this victory Buffalo, the Bills are scary again.
