Culture Building? Same Blues?

Without Karlos, Marcell, Sammy, Kyle, Shaq, Reggie, Seantral, Bills’ Still Show a “New Era” of Buffalo Ball.

Odd Men Out

With Marcell Dareus leaving the facility shortly before kickoff, and the announcement of Karlos Williams’ release, you could already feel the rumbling stampede of grumbling Buffalo fair-weather “fans.” Talks of substance abuse, rehab, suspension, “comfort eating” with pregnant wives? Karlos is gone? Marcell was where? If these 2 proven players’ respective exits were not enough; a temporary stint in rehab, and a cutthroat cutting, the Billsmafia is also enduring the loss of their team’s 2 top draft picks.

Shaq Lawson & Reggie  Ragland entered Buffalo with such high upside, and seemingly ready to perform, fresh from the NCAA womb. 2 game ready specimens going under the knife, a star eating hot dogs on Chippewah the night of his public announcement of seeking rehab treatment, and a former Rookie of the Year candidate heading home unemployed.
“Season’s over.”
“7-9”
“Typical.”

A New Sheriff in Town.

He’s holding players only film session, after film session. He’s making kids’ dreams come true up at St. John Fisher. He’s throwing ropes, showing touch, and he can dance with the ball in a way no one else in the NFL can. He has earned* the respect of his fellow players, his coaches, the front office, and most fans. (for now) His performance and improvement has already earned him a performance-heavy contract, that will certainly take care of the bills. So how well will he take care of the BIlls?
If anyone can keep the Ryan brothers’ belts tight and beers down, it’s Tyrod Taylor. His look-good leadership is unique, and his mindset contagious. His swagger on and off the field is revoking fans’ fear (expectation) of losing, and providing them with a new brand of Buffalo Bills Football. Have we ever seen Sexy Rexy with such an impressive Field General?

Tyrod has walked into town and proven that he is not only ready to perform at this level, but dedicated to this franchise, his teammates, and the most important factor… something that hasn’t been an expectation for this franchise in…. (I’m not even going to say “how long. We get it.) The most important factor.. A dedication to WINNING.

A Certain Type of Football.

The Bills made a Coughlin-less NY Giants team look extremely lackluster. Granted it was only preseason, but with the exception of an expected ODB explosive play, the Giants looked like they didn’t even feel like practicing.
The Bills looked like they were practicing kicking ass, on both sides of the ball.
The offense, defense, and special teams made a huge impression on Kids Day at The Ralph, New Era Field. The culture of the team was unveiled, in terms of energy, attention to detail, and confidence in the ideas within the Ryan Brothers’ Brains. The defense looked, dare i say, creative and spontaneous? The offense looked, Crisp? Explosive? Fun to Watch? We don’t need 2 kickers. I think we can all agree on that.
