ITS TIME!!! If game day doesn’t make you feel like a little kid on Christmas well then you’re in the wrong place! It’s 7:56am here in Buffalo NY and this writer won’t be attending the Bills home opener this season, though I am happy for all the fans in attendance. For now, I will watch comfortably from home, as 2 years ago I was able to get the Bills “Game Pass” which enabled 2 tickets to every home game for $500. I knew then what we’d be in for nowadays as I saw all I needed to from THE GENERAL Josh Allen and his new home. Stay safe out there friends!
Check out the BLEUMAFIA Pregame Show for everything you need to know heading into this week, you can listen as you prepare the taco dip, ride out, or get your game face on at home. Here’s this weeks FINAL #PREGAMEDUMP and prediction leading into Week 1 with the Steelers.
Round One, FIGHT.
As mentioned all week, this game is going to be a fight. We aren’t talking about some Evander Holyfield fight either. This is going to be knock down, drag out, til the final whistle bloodshed. The Steelers as a whole are coming in angry, having finished DISMALLY after a terrific start. BIg Ben is not who he once was, but he is still capable of throwing for 600 yards, ESPECIALLY with his WR Corps. The Steelers are always ready to go toe-to-toe, despite many thinking last year was it for them. Don’t expect a blowout today.
Tremaine MAIN Man
Tremaine Edmunds is no doubt a phenomenal athlete. He enters his 3rd season with Buffalo at only 23 years old. For me, this is where we will find out what type of player Edmunds will be. Talks of high ceilings have surrounded him since his youthful entry, and he gets high praise for being involved everywhere defensively. This is the type of game where Bills players, fans and coaches need to see Edmunds shine, and step up as a leader of that defense. If he can sure up that side of the ball, we certainly have enough on O to go the distance with anyone. Time for the young boy to step up, and MAN UP and lead this team.
Canada – Goose Egg Down
After the disgusting finish to the Pittsburgh 2020 season, and after Big Ben’s alligator tears fell to Clevelend, the Steelers reignited their Offense with Matt Canada who loves to shift. As we’ve said many times, Harris, Frieremuth and Canada make Big Ben very dangerous this season, should he choose to perform as he could. The Bills won’t have much tape on the Steelers new attack, so we can expect some new wrinkles. How can the Bills adjust to new schematics on the fly? How will crowd noise impact not only offensive communication but also DEFENSE’s ability to adjust? The Bills will seek to attack wherever possible, and make this new “cute” attack look foolish and childish.
HIT SQUAD
Both teams are going to be bringing the noise physically. IF the Bills think we are going to cutesy-coast to a nice blowout, someone is going to get hurt. This is a playoff game like atmosphere as 2 franchises have a lot to prove. Both have Super Bowl caliber QBs, but on opposite ends of father time. Who will be able to get to the QB more today? Whoever does will probably be the victor. Expect to see a lot of hard hitting action, and maybe even a few scraps. Respect will be earned today.
Nail Biter
I have the Bills coming out quickly and executing at a high level on early scripted drives, resulting in red zone chances but tough Steelers d in Green/Red zone. Kicking game will be crucial to victory. A Miss could cost game. Despite a very sexy hot start from Buffalo, Steelers will weather storm, having been through many. Steelers match points and take lead off Bills mishap shortly before half. 2nd Half opens with 2 great drives from both teams, and a lot of firepower as each team pours into a new year of chemistry and eases into comfort. I believe the Bills regain the lead by 2 scores in 3rd or fourth, and the Steelers come back, bringing it to within a field goal, but the Bills get a final stop, sack, INT, deflection, some kinda 4th down or TO that ends the game and secures an ugly win for the Bills.
